Curriculum A Levels MADAR International School (MIS) first opened in the Al Towayya district of the City of Al Ain, Abu Dhabi in 2002. Since then, student population has grown from 62 to over 2,000. Currently there are more than 130 teachers working at the school who come from many parts of the globe. MADAR International School (MIS) academic program follows an American curriculum (Ohio) that is based on the US-Common Core Standards and issues its graduates with a high school diploma. In addition to English, Arabic, Islamic Studies and Math, our middle and upper school students study ICT, Economics, Social Studies and the Sciences, including Chemistry, Physics and Biology.

The school has adopted a continuous assessment strategy at all levels, which is based on the domains, strands and topics of the Ohio curriculum and employ sets of 'Can Do' statements by which teachers can assess students' progress and attainment. Project-based learning is utilized in the middle and upper school in order to enhance students' 21st Century skills and to prepare them for professional and academic careers once they graduate.

A new school building was opened at the start of the 2014 academic year in order to accommodate the increasing number of students. The building includes 24 new classrooms and caters for KG and Primary classes. Like the middle and upper school, these classrooms are fully equipped with smartboards, computers and iPads. The new building provides young learners with a vibrant and colorful learning environment that includes a library, a swimming pool, an art room and two recreation rooms.

MADAR International School (MIS) is committed to the success of its students, and as such we continue with our drive towards improvement. Our school mission, to graduate moral and cultured citizens with a desire for life-long learning, will remain our goal as we continue to make progress in the years ahead.

MIS is accredited by AdvancED (USA).
