Marmara Education Institution is a co-educational range of schools from kindergarten to (Age 4) through 12th grade (Age 18/19). The institution was founded in July 1991 and accredited by the Turkish Ministry of Education. It is located at Marmara Education Village. Marmara Education Institutions acting on the motto 'From Nursery to Life' are at the service of students and parents with six kindergartens, a Primary School, three high schools - Science High school specializing in Sciences, Vocational High School specializing in Radio-TV and Journalism, Özel Marmara Koleji and the Maltepe University. There are also Marmara Schools in Bodrum, Mugla.
Marmara Education Institutions, located in Istanbul, offers an education with a bilingual academic program; an intensive study of the English language starting as early as kindergarten preparing students for a bilingual national curriculum with certain subjects taught in English. Starting with grade 5, German, French and Spanish are taught as second language. Özel Marmara Koleji, a part of Marmara Education Institutions, is accredited by Council of International Schools, CIS and authorized to offer IB-DP. Özel Marmara Koleji is a partner school for the European Language Portfolio Project along with nine other schools in Turkey.
The Marmara Education Village incorporates modern laboratories, a planetarium-observatory, an information technology center, testing and assessment centers, a multimedia center, libraries with access to internet, a health center, conference halls, radio and television studios, a cinema / theatre, an amphitheatre, an Olympic indoor and outdoor swimming pools, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, football fields, squash courts, a gymnasium, fitness centers, an ice rink, a zoo, a paddock, greenhouses and botanical garden, a guest house, and an internet cafe. Students are encouraged to take part in extra-curricular activities including international organizations like Young Reporters for the Environment, Eco-Schools, Science Across Europe, EU Socrates Programs and UNESCO-SEMEP. The institution has also been conducting Comenius Projects with schools in the European Union.
