Learning Support Programme
Founded in 1927 as a British School, Saint George’s School in Switzerland aims to combine its well-structured, traditional ethos with academic excellence in an international environment.
The school stands in a park of 45, 000 square metres with magnificent uninterrupted views of the mountains and Lake Geneva.
The main building houses the administrative offices, assembly hall, library, boarding section, and purpose-built rooms for art, music and information technology, and secondary teaching facilities. Newly constructed extensions to the main building house laboratories for practical work in biology, physics and chemistry, a spacious dining-room and kitchen and classrooms.
The junior department is a self-contained unit based in the Chalet. It is equipped with full amenities including a library and specialist rooms for music and cookery.
Sports facilities on the campus are outstanding and include 7 outdoor tennis courts a fully equipped sports hall and playing field.
St. George's School is within easy reach of the motorways and Geneva airport is less than an hour away by car or train.
Rigorous academic programmes combined with extensive extra-curricular activities ensure a complete education. Small classes and individual attention guarantee a high rate of success in public examinations and entrance into Universities worldwide.
The Junior Department accepts children from ages 3 to 11 and aims to provide a firm foundation in all areas of education. A broad and balanced timetable is offered in accordance with the British National Curriculum guidelines, tailored to meet the individual needs of each child. French is taught throughout the school.
The aim of the lower secondary school years (years 7-9) is to provide a broad, balanced curriculum. The emphasis is to establish a solid base in numeracy, literacy and information technology skills, and to develop good study habits. Students choose from the many subjects on offer at IGCSE level in years 10 and 11 and follow the IB Diploma programme or the High School Diploma Programme in the final two years of secondary school.
St. George’s School Summer Camp, for boys and girls aged 10-16 years, accepts students as either day or residential pupils, during July and August.
