Learning Support Programme
The International School Rheintal opened in August 2002 with grades 1 to 7. Since then Pre-School and Kindergarten have been added and in each successive year one grade level has been added at the upper end.
Since August 2007 Grade 12 has been offered. ISR aims to serve students from the international and local communities in the region of St. Gallen (Switzerland), Vorarlberg (Austria) and Liechtenstein. English is the language of instruction with extra ESL support given where necessary. German is taught at all levels and French is taught from grade 6. Extracurricular activities and field trips are also offered. The classrooms are large and well-resourced. The school has a library, art and craft rooms, a science laboratory and a computer laboratory. For physical education lessons the school has access to a local gymnasium and swimming pool.
The school is authorized in all three of the International Baccalaureate Programs. The academic program aims to educate the whole child and cater for individual needs where possible. Class size is targeted at 18. Classes run from Monday to Friday from 9: 10 to 15: 40 from late August until the end of June. Vacations are scheduled for October, December/January, February and April.
Admission is by application to the Director and is open to students of all nationalities. Students can be admitted all year round.
