Founded in 2001, based on a secure and spacious 30 hectare purpose built campus close to the centre of Lagos, BIS provides students with an oasis of tranquility one of Africa's most vibrant cities.

Serving the needs of local and expatriate children aged 11-18 this co-educational day and boarding school has consistently produced outstanding results in Cambridge International Examinations.

Our latest results show a 94% pass rate A*-C in English and Maths at IGCSE, comparable with top UK and International schools around the world. Our continued success at IGCSE has enabled BIS to develop a reputation as a centre of academic excellence. BIS has introduced GL Assessment CAT 4 testing that enables the school to track student progress and further respond to their learning needs.

The school's curriculum follows the National Curriculum of England adapted to meet Nigerian needs. A blend of Nigerian and expatriate teachers ensure that BIS can offer a broad based education based on a traditional subject spread.

Class size is limited to 20 students by school policy. In these small classes students and teachers are able to build strong working relationships. BIS students are encouraged to take an active role in school life by participating in co-curricular, inter house and inter school competitions.

With an increasingly varied extracurricular programme, based around sporting, dance and cultural activities students have the opportunity to excel outside the classroom as well as within.

The Student Council plays a vital role within the school; meeting regularly with senior staff to represent the views of the students and actively organizing school events.

BIS Students regularly participate in the school’s annual dramatic production, science projects, ICT and Maths competitions, education trips in Nigeria and overseas, and the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award programme.

BIS is proud to be a member of Council of British International Schools and founding member of the Association of International Schools and Educators in Nigeria.
