Currently the school caters for the 3-18 age range, providing education from Kindergarten up to university entrance level. The school's mission is to provide a balanced and rigorous international education for children of all nationalities who live in and around Monaco. The development of international understanding, learning how to learn and a sense of commitment to the community are developed alongside specific knowledge and skills. The school offers small class sizes (16 maximum) and a caring and friendly atmosphere. The Primary School curriculum is taught 50% in French and 50% in English. Students arriving in the school without the necessary level in those languages are given intensive instruction by additional specialists. A balanced programme of education is provided which also develops a spirit of enquiry. In the Middle School, while a strong emphasis is still placed on French, English becomes the dominant language of instruction as the students prepare for the IGCSE and IB examinations. Spanish is offered as the school's official third language. There are strong ESL and FSL departments and in addition, mother tongue support is provided in Italian, German and Russian. The International Baccalaureate Diploma programme is offered in the last two years of Secondary School. |
