Okpo School is located in the township of Okpo, on the island of Koje, in South Korea. It was established in 1987 and was originally called the Daewoo Foreign School. It was establish by Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering to primarily provide education to the foreign personnel working at the shipyard. The school now admits children from all foreign families on the The school has expanded its capacity in the last year and continues to grow. There are nine classrooms, a well-stocked library, art room, science lab, computer suite and an assembly hall which is also used for PE. There are two offices, a staffroom, and two teacher resource rooms. Other facilities include a minimum of two computers in each classroom, 61-inch television with DVD, video and computer input, a large playing area with static equipment and small-sized football pitch with synthetic grass, a well-equipped sports store and all-weather playing surface..

The school uses the International Primary Curriculum alongside a modified English National Curriculum. The highly skilled teachers are from the UK and Australia and all have had ESL experience.

The school year runs from September until June and with four terms. Fees are quoted per annum but paid in two installments.

The school has a policy of a maximum of 18 children per class because of the high numbers of children from different countries with differing English speaking ability. It is essential to register a child a least one month before they can attend the school. Parents or companies planning to bring children to Okpo should request up to date information on the availability of places in classes, full details of the entry requirements and current school fees. These are all available on the school web site.
