St Columba's College is an HMC, Church of Ireland (Anglican) boarding and day school for boys and girls aged 11-18. Situated on the slopes of the Dublin mountains, overlooking Dublin Bay, the College enjoys the benefits of easy access to the Irish capital with the charms of a rural setting.

Ours is a deliberately small school of just 295 pupils. This size is a fundamental part of our ethos because we believe in a strong sense of togetherness in an atmosphere that is caring and supportive of all. We value the quality of the relationships we enjoy between teachers and pupils who live side-by-side and work together productively on a daily basis.

We have high academic standards - among the very best in Ireland - and almost all of our pupils go on to universities in Ireland and the UK. We encourage every individual pupil to get involved in the broader life of the college, whether it be in music, sport, drama, debating or public speaking. We aim to develop well-rounded and happy boys and girls with the self-confidence to mix freely and easily with others, whatever their background or age.

Occupying 150 acres, St Columba's has buildings dating from its establishment in 1843, through the last century and into the new millennium. In the past five years, the college has invested around € 15million to ensure that it continues to offer its pupils the best facilities in terms of classrooms, sports facilities and accommodation. Recent additions have been new, purpose-built and refurbished boarding houses, state-of-the art music rooms, a second Astroturf hockey pitch and an additional dining room, as well as classrooms and common rooms. In addition, the College boasts a library and study rooms that are second to none in terms of facilities and resources, and a sports hall that provides facilities for indoor sport as well as a health and fitness suite and a dance studio.

The College offers seven-day boarding, which includes Saturday morning classes, six afternoons of sport for all, and a comprehensive range of weekend activities for its pupils. Our emphasis is on participation and involvement. Please visit our website (www.stcolumbas.ie) or phone for a prospectus. We welcome prospective parents and their children, and we look forward to a visit from you in the future.
