All Saints Anglican School


There are many challenges facing our world at present but whatever form those challenges might take our children remain our best hope for the future. At All Saints Anglican School children come first and their interests lie at the heart of all our major policy and curriculum initiatives. We operate from the premise that every child is brilliant at something and an integral part of our role as educators is to discover what that something might be and then nurture it for all that we are worth. All Saints has a history of excellence in academic performance and has also been voted Best Overall Music School for the last three years in the Gold Coast Eisteddfod. All Saints Headmaster mr Patrick Wallas believes such achievements mean nothing if they are not accompanied by a sense of gratitude and above all awareness that teaching and learning and School in general should be fun.

Our Junior School

Pre Prep is the main entry point to the Junior School and is offered to children in the year prior to Prep which is the first year of formal schooling. The children learn to co-operate problem solve and think laterally. They learn language skills mathematical concepts persistence and concentration the value of curiosity self-confidence co-ordination Healthy attitudes and values. Children need to have their fourth birthday by the 30th of June in the Pre Prep year in order to be eligible for this programme. Pre Prep operates during School terms only offers a full week program or a five day a fortnight program. PrepPrep is the first formal year of schooling at All Saints. This year level not only focuses on a child’s social and developmental areas but is also academically significant. The basis of literacy and numeracy are laid during this period. Years 1 and 2Emphasis is given to developing reading writing and mathematical skills. Children are introduced to the concept of working as an individual and also as a member of the group. Whilst the core subjects of Mathematics english science and the Study of Society and Environment are offered by the class teacher children also experience specialist tuition in Art music drama and Communication physical Education christian Living technology and Library. Years 3 to 6Central to the new academic programme are English mathematics science History and Geography. Specialist Staff support the following areas: Art christian Living languages Other Than English music physical Education technology drama and Communication the Infinity Programme (for students with exceptional abilities) chess and Educational Support.

Middle School

The Middle School at All Saints allows students to grow in independence and self-confidence whilst providing a safety net for risk taking decision making and establishment of a sense of personal identity. Priority is given to the development of positive relationships between all those involved in the students’ learning. In addition to the core learning areas students undertake studies in a number of other areas including Art christian Living languages Other Than English music physical Education technology creative Design and Multi-Media.

Senior School

All students in Year 10 are required to study Mathematics english christian Living physical Education science Humanities wonder ( an All Saints Initiative) and Futures (a career programme). The remaining academic disciplines of The Performing and Visual Arts technology business and Languages other than English are covered from a range of elective units. Senior SecondaryA very wide number of subjects are available at All Saints to provide students with the opportunity to excel in their area of interest. Towards the end of Year 10 students are required to choose a course of study for Years 11 and 12. Various options are available: • Students may study five or six Authority subjects that will enable them to embark on the tertiary course of their choice. • Students may choose a combination of subjects and Vocational Education courses. By choosing these options students can go on to further study at a Tertiary Level (University or TAFE). • School-Based Traineeships are also available to all students at Senior Secondary level enabling them to undertake training and paid work in their chosen field whilst still completing their studies at school. A range of vocational certificates are also available for those students who prefer a more practical approach to their learning. Students may also complete school-based traineeships and apprenticeships or study certificates in other fields through external training providers.

International Students

We welcome International Students and have students from many countries studying at the school. International House which is the focus of the international education programme at All Saints offers modern accommodation and specialist learning facilities. There are 20 double rooms where students are supervised by resident staff. The learning centre encompasses tutorial rooms which are fully equipped with the latest computer technology and have full access to the School’s computer network the Internet and other information resources.
